HughesNet Residential Proxies

Our residential proxy pool includes IPs from HughesNet — a satellite internet provider serving over 1 million residential subscribers primarily in rural America where terrestrial broadband is unavailable. Satellite IPs add a unique ISP diversity dimension to our rotating pool. Country-level targeting with automatic rotation.

HughesNet IPs in Our Residential Pool

HughesNet is a satellite internet provider operated by EchoStar (formerly Hughes Network Systems), serving over 1 million residential subscribers across the United States. HughesNet's primary market is rural America — locations where cable, fiber, and DSL broadband are unavailable or unreliable.

Our residential proxy pool includes IPs from HughesNet's satellite broadband network. These IPs are registered to HughesNet's ASN and classified as residential satellite broadband by IP intelligence databases. Anti-bot systems generally classify satellite ISP IPs as residential, granting them standard residential trust scores.

HughesNet IPs add a unique dimension to our pool: satellite ISP diversity. Most proxy pools consist almost entirely of cable and telco broadband IPs. Satellite IPs represent a distinct ISP category that adds another layer of diversity to your traffic pattern.

**Note**: Satellite internet has inherently higher latency (500-700ms round-trip) due to the signal traveling to geostationary orbit and back. When our rotation algorithm assigns a HughesNet IP, this latency applies to that specific request. For latency-sensitive operations, our pool includes faster broadband and mobile IPs as well.

Hex Proxies residential proxies use a rotating IP pool that includes IPs from many ISPs. You cannot select or guarantee a specific ISP — IPs rotate automatically with country, state, and city-level targeting. The ISP coverage described on this page reflects the composition of our pool, not a dedicated ISP product.

Satellite ISP Coverage

HughesNet provides coverage across the entire continental United States via geostationary satellite. Unlike terrestrial ISPs with specific service areas, satellite coverage is nationwide. HughesNet subscribers are concentrated in: - **Rural agricultural regions** across the Midwest, Great Plains, and South - **Mountain communities** in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho - **Remote areas** in Alaska, Maine, and other states with low population density - **Tribal lands** and unincorporated areas where terrestrial broadband has not been deployed

HughesNet IPs resolve to these rural locations, providing residential IP perspectives from parts of America that are almost entirely absent from typical proxy pools.

Use Cases

**Rural Market Research**: Access websites from authentic rural residential IPs. Content, pricing, and availability may differ for rural users compared to urban/suburban consumers.

**ISP Type Diversity**: Satellite IPs are categorically different from cable or fiber IPs. Including them in your rotation makes your traffic pattern more diverse and harder to profile.

**Agricultural and Land-Use Research**: Monitor agricultural commodity platforms, land listing services, and rural market data from IP addresses associated with actual rural subscribers.

**Completeness in Nationwide Operations**: For truly nationwide data collection, HughesNet IPs ensure you are not missing the perspective of rural internet users who make up a meaningful segment of the US population.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are HughesNet IPs slower?

Satellite internet has higher latency (500-700ms) due to geostationary orbit distances. When a HughesNet IP is assigned, expect this additional latency on that specific request. Our pool includes faster broadband IPs that the rotation algorithm also assigns.

Are satellite IPs treated as residential?

Yes. HughesNet IPs are classified as residential satellite broadband by IP intelligence databases and receive residential trust scores from anti-bot systems.

Can I exclude satellite IPs from my rotation?

No. Country-level targeting does not allow ISP-type exclusions. Satellite IPs are a small fraction of our pool and appear infrequently in rotation.
