What Are HTTPS Proxies?
HTTPS proxies handle encrypted web traffic by creating a secure tunnel between your application and the target website. When you connect through an HTTPS proxy, your data is encrypted end-to-end using SSL/TLS — the same encryption used by banks and secure websites.
Hex Proxies supports HTTPS across all proxy types. Whether you're using residential or ISP proxies, your HTTPS connections are fully encrypted and secure.
How HTTPS Proxies Work
When you send an HTTPS request through a Hex Proxy:
- Your client sends a CONNECT request to the proxy server
- The proxy establishes a TCP tunnel to the target server
- SSL/TLS handshake occurs between your client and the target
- All data flows through the encrypted tunnel
- The proxy cannot read the encrypted content — only the destination is visible
Benefits
End-to-End Encryption Your data is encrypted from your application to the target server. The proxy itself cannot inspect the contents of your HTTPS traffic.
Safe for Sensitive Tasks Handle login credentials, payment information, and API keys safely through HTTPS proxies. Encryption protects your data in transit.
Universal Compatibility Every modern web browser, scraping tool, and HTTP client supports HTTPS proxies. No special configuration needed beyond the standard proxy settings.
No Performance Penalty HTTPS proxies add minimal overhead. Modern TLS implementations are highly optimized, and our infrastructure is built for high-throughput encrypted connections.
Use Cases
Secure Web Scraping Scrape websites over HTTPS without exposing your data to network observers. Essential when collecting data from sites that require authentication.
Ad Verification Verify ad placements securely. HTTPS ensures that ad networks and third parties cannot detect your verification activity through traffic analysis.
Financial Data Collection Collect pricing, stock, and financial data from secure sources. HTTPS encryption protects the integrity of the data you collect.
Getting Started
HTTPS support is included with all Hex Proxies plans. Use the provided proxy host and port with HTTPS URLs — the proxy automatically handles the CONNECT tunnel.
